CARDIO MACHINES

Costa Rica Total Fitness has a selection of brand new cardio machines so you can be sure to get your cardio workout, even during peak hours. Cardio is a vital part of your workout regime. It strengthens the heart and cardiovascular system, respiratory system and muscular systems. Plus, cardio boosts your metabolism and is awesome for burning excess calories and, thus, fat.   

Talk to one of our trainers about how to build the most effective use of treadmill, stationary bike, elliptical and rowing machines into your workout plan.

FREE WEIGHTS

Free weights describe any training load that isn’t connected to another apparatus or piece of gym equipment. The only thing you’re fighting is the force of gravity on that object.  

Free weights are an important part of your full-body workout plan. They build lean muscle mass and importantly target and strengthen both the primary and stabilizing muscle groups. 

At Oasis we offer you a good selection of dumbbells and barbells so you should never need to wait for your weights!

The free weight area can be intimidating for the uninitiated. If you’re unsure how to use free weights please talk to one of our trainers about learning how to safely and effectively integrate free-weight training into your workout plan.

BOOTCAMP

Bootcamp provides a whole body workout with the goal of building strength, endurance and aerobic fitness. The workout is intense and so is the camaraderie you build with fellow bootcamp participants.  

Bootcamp provides a challenging workout with tons of variety and relies on very little equipment. Once you factor Bootcamp into your training regime you can take your workout anywhere! 

If you haven’t done bootcamp before and are unsure about your fitness level please come in and speak to one of our trainers. We are committed to getting you bootcamp ready!  You will be amazed at the results.

PILATES

Pilates is a full-body, low-impact exercise that strengthens muscles while improving postural alignment and flexibility.  The practice of pilates puts emphasis on alignment, control and breathing.  

Pilates workouts specifically target the ‘core’ – the muscle group which wraps around your front and back mid-section. Good core muscle strength is vitally important and will enhance your well-being in many aspects of daily life.  Core strength provides support for your body, alleviates back pain, enables fluid movement, protects your body during exercise and will help to preserve mobility as you age. 

Pilates is a program accessible to all people at any level of fitness. We highly recommend adding pilates to your weekly exercise regime to prevent injury and enhance performance in your more high-impact/high-intensity workouts.

YOGA

Yoga is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India.  The integrated practice of postures (or asanas) and breathing techniques (or pranayama) is intended to strengthen the body, calm the mind and permit internal reflection.  

The benefits of a regular yoga practice are wide-ranging. A complete yoga workout can help keep your back and joints healthy, improve your overall posture, stretch and strengthen muscles and improve your balance. Yoga also has a restorative element that is deeply relaxing and rejuvenating.  

The beauty of yoga is that you don’t have to be a yogi or yogini to reap the benefits. Whether you are young or old, overweight or fit, yoga has the power to calm the mind and strengthen the body.  Don’t be intimidated. Yoga is for everyone.

ZUMBA

 Zumba classes mix low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Set to a soundtrack of Latin and World rhythms, you’ll forget you’re working out and surrender yourself to the fun and awesome beats.  

Each Zumba class offers a total workout combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility. Don’t be intimidated if you’ve got two left feet. Our Zuma instructor will break it down into simple parts and just like J-Lo you’ll have all the moves.  

Don’t be surprised if you get addicted to this class once you experience the boost to your overall energy and fitness levels.
